The Corona Situation in Colombia
Colombia was severely hit by Corona and is one of the countries classified as a high incidence area by the German Robert Koch Institute. At the beginning of the pandemic, the Colombian government ordered a complete lockdown. All air traffic was suspended for almost half a year, a general curfew was issued and the economy was shut down. Despite the very drastic measures, it was not possible to avoid the spread of Corona and, ultimately, an overloading of the national health system.
With the vaccination of the population, the number of infections and, in particular, the utilization of ICUs has decreased again. Somewhat everyday life has come back no normal. Shops, restaurants and bars are open and there are hardly any restrictions on public life anymore. Of course, the so-called AHA rules still apply and the checking of body temperature and registering when entering restaurants, shopping centers, etc. has become routine.
There may still be irregularities in air traffic and the number of flight connections is still somewhat limited, but also in this regard the situation is getting back to normal more and more.
