The Corona Situation in Colombia
Colombia was severely hit by Corona. At the beginning of the pandemic, the Colombian government ordered a complete lockdown. All air traffic was suspended for almost half a year, a general curfew was issued, and the economy was shut down. Despite the very drastic measures, it was not possible to avoid the spread of Corona and, ultimately, an overloading of the national health system.
With the vaccination of the population, the number of infections and, in particular, the utilization of ICUs has decreased again. Somewhat everyday life has come back no normal.
In order to prevent a new lockdown, the Colombian government has ruled that restaurants, bars, discos, museums, churches and certain events are only allowed to be visited by people who are fully vaccinated. Consequently, a complete vaccination and the corresponding proof are required for participating in our trips. Of course, the general rules about hygiene and distances between persons also apply.
There may still be irregularities in air traffic and the number of flight connections is still somewhat limited, but also in this regard the situation is getting back to normal more and more.
